Men’s Issues Counseling
I am trained in trauma therapy using Somatic and Attachment-Focused EMDR Levels I & II from Deb Kennard and the Personal Transformation Institute. I also use Internal Family Systems (IFS), Dan Siegel's Interpersonal Neurobiology (IPNB), Deb Dana’s Polyvegal Theory and the frameworks of Dr. Curt Thompson and Dr. Becky Kennedy. These methods blend various therapy styles, including Neurobiology, Awareness and regulation practices, Narrative Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Imago communication, Psychodynamic Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
Counseling Specialties
I’m a licensed marriage and family therapist that specializes in counseling tailored to men and men’s mental health issues in Nashville and the state of Tennessee (via virtual sessions). I am passionate about providing counseling for ADHD, anxiety/depression, relationship issues, and trauma to the men of Tennessee.
My goal is to create a therapy environment that includes a genuine relationship, humor, and honesty. I became a therapist after a previous career in IT Project Management at Vanderbilt University and Hospital Corporation of America (HCA). I am a proud Appalachia and Tennessee native having been raised in Kingsport and I graduated from undergrad at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City. After my first career, I completed my master’s degree from Belmont University in Mental Health Counseling with a focus on Marriage and Family Therapy. Outside of counseling I am probably hanging out with his family and friends, learning about random subjects (thanks to my ADHD), fishing, camping, or gardening.
